Beautiful Eyes - Do You See Them?

By Bill Coughlin

When you see a persons face what do you notice first?

In my case it is their Beautiful Eyes. A Persons eyes can tell you a lot about their mood and what they are thinking.

As they say look into a persons eyes and you look into their sole.

Here are a few facts about your Eyes:

· They are the most complex organs you possess except for your brain.

· The adult eyeball measures about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter. Of its total surface area only one-sixth is exposed -- the front portion.

· In a normal life span, they will bring you almost 24 million images of the world around you.

· Eyes are your most precious sense... care for them properly!

One way is to have regular eye exams.

Eye Exams are not just about obtaining optimal vision through the right eyeglass or contact prescription they can also help detect early warning signs of disease that can affect your eye health.

During the exam, talk to your doctor to make sure you know what they are doing during the various procedures and ask for a health and wellness summary.

Since an eye examination can help detect many health problems, eye care practitioners often work in conjunction with internists and general practitioners to help empower individuals on their health and wellness journey.

Many doctors offer new technology, such as digital retinal eye scans, that is quick and comfortable and produces a computerized picture of blood vessels in action.

This new technology effectively provides information on eye health and certain systemic health conditions, such as diabetes and glaucoma.

With more than 50 million "prediabetics," 65 million hypertensives and 5 to 10 million Americans with high pressure in the eyes, a regular eye exam is important for your eye and overall health.

A regular eye exam is about more than getting a stylish new pair of glasses. It can help keep your Eyes Beautiful and healthy.

Remember to take your Vitamins

There's a reason why nutrition is such a hot topic these days. Research has shown over and over again that getting the right vitamins can not only help maintain your Beautiful Eyes and skin and also prevent diseases like macular degeneration, glaucoma and cataracts. Which saves you a ton in medical costs down the road.

Beautiful eyes in the face of a handsome woman are like eloquence to speech.

In Vancouver, an optometrist discovered that a person had a brain tumor (I think) through a routine eye exam. It points out how important is it to have regular visits to an "eye' professional.

The eyes may be the window of the soul but when you have experienced life among people who can not use them, you realise that they are only a small part of the sensory perception that we possess.
As my own sight slowly disappears I am finding that there is far more to 'see' with my other senses, even though I have had a heightened use of them for most of my life.
Take care of your whole body - it is the edifice in which you live.
I have a very simple rule when I have tests. I will tell the professional that I will want a prescription so that I can obtain any necessary service from someone else. It is remarkable how little needs to be done when someone else will benefit. Always be suspiscious of anyone who sells the remedy for the ill that he identifies in you.

Yep, it'e the eyes -- followed by the hair and mouth, and cheekbones.

Quality food supplements that actually deliver nutrients to your cells, which is where you need nutrition, are difficult to find. If you are using the best, which most don't as they buy on price not efficacy, then your general health and well being is improved along with eye health. Certainly if you have a eye health issue then looking at specific vitamins and minerals to treat it is a worthwhile option. However no part of the body is separate from the other parts and if there is a deterioration of your eyes then you can rest assured there are problems elsewhere.

I teach high school biology and we are discussing how the eye evolved through natural selection and then we will dissect an eye. Thanks for the info on the eye as I can use it in class. Interesting facts always help with any activity!
